That’s good to hear. I’ve enjoyed all of Quammen’s books so far. There are examples in “Song of the Dodo” and “Monster of God” that I use in my classes from year to year, and this one clearly relates to what I teach, so I’m looking forward to it.

I’m not sure. I’ve used this with my classes with students on laptops and desktops that have had Flash. Let me know if you find anything similar.

I came up with the phrase one day when I was walking around work. It occured to me that, not only am I a rotten speller (something I’ve come to grips with), I have a boat load of stuff I just don’t know anything about. Work makes me feel like that sometimes. Especially lunch. Some of those conversations you sit down next to. Yikes!
I have to disagree though: there’s really nothing esoteric about “The Illinois Enima Bandit” or “Titties and Beer.” The Zappa bus is always pulling into a stop near you. “Don’t make a fuss, just get on the bus.”
